Moving forward we will be changing the structure of Simply Serving. Rising costs of groceries and a steady decline in volunteer sign-ups and donations have made the past 2 years very difficult. After much thought and consideration, I have decided that while I don’t want to close our charity, it does need to be scaled back and simplified.

Moving forward Simply Serving will be hosting an annual meal prep event instead of delivering meals monthly. The event (still to be named) will last for an entire week. It is our sincere hope that the community embraces this concept and it becomes a tradition that we can look forward to each year.

I will be continuing to offer cooking classes, Summer camps and cooking kits through our new company, S.S. Kitchen.

At this time, we are not accepting donations. Instead, S.S. Kitchen will sponsor the cost of the meal prep that takes place at our new annual event. This means that by signing up for our classes, participating in our Summer camps or by purchasing a cooking kit, you are still contributing to Simply Serving’s mission of providing meals to cancer patients and their families. As the event gets closer, we will run a short donation campaign where individual donors will be given the opportunity to make a 1x donation if they would like to show support. We will also be taking nominations for meal recipients at that time.

These changes will be taking place on January 1, 2024. Please note that due to these changes, we will no longer be hosting our weekly meal prep sessions. Additionally, we will not be accepting any new nominees.

We are very excited about this change to our structure (although initially it was a difficult decision). Simply Serving is not closing, things are just going to look a little different.

A huge thank you to each and every one of you who showed support over the last 4 years. We couldn’t have done what we did without you. I hope to see each and every one of you signed up to cook or deliver meals during our annual event!
