Day Family
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated! You guys funded this freezer in just under two hours. Incredible! From this point forward all donations made will go to Simply Serving’s General Donation fund in Jennifer’s name. This money will be used to provide freezers to families who do not have a support system as strong as the Day Family’s! Jennifer will be made aware of ALL donations made in her honor ❤️.
Meet Jennifer Day and family! They were nominated to receive one of our deep freezers filled with healthy meals by Lauren York, a close friend of Jennifer’s. With the help of volunteers, Simply Serving will be preparing a month’s worth of homemade meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner options) for the Day Family to enjoy as Jennifer focuses on her fight against Breast Cancer. Keep reading below to learn more about their story or to gift a meal or more to the family!
Lauren wrote the following:
“Jennifer has a servant’s heart. She has always been a caring person, will do anything for anyone, and can make you laugh til your sides hurt and tears are streaming down your face in an instant. She is an excellent friend, daughter, sister, wife, mother of two amazing kiddos and a beloved doodle, and nurse. In September of 2021, Jennifer was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Immediately, her world turned upside down and all of a sudden she had an oncologist, an aggressive chemo treatment plan, and was shopping for wigs. In March of 2022, Jenn will undergo surgery for a double mastectomy. So far, Jenn has handled all of this with amazing courage and positivity (and lots of humor). She is an inspiration to all that know her. But we know that days are rough, and sometimes the day to day things she is used to doing are too much. So now, it’s time for Jenn to let others wrap her up up and help care for her. A freezer full of meals would be one thing she could take off her list so that she can focus on her health and her family.”
