Young Bakers with minimum training take a crack at re-creating edible masterpieces for fun prizes. It’s part reality contest, part hot mess.
Our Nailed It Jr. classes are inspired by the popular Netflix reality show, Nailed it! which was created based on the craze of people trying and failing to make elaborate cakes they found on the Internet. Our amateur bakers will attempt to re-create edible masterpieces for prizes and the Nailed It! bragging rights. Competitors will take part in two challenges over the course of the 3.5 hour class; their efforts will be judged by co-hosts Ms. Bailey and Ms. Myah.
The first challenge is called “Baker’s Choice”, where the contestants pick one of three existing confectionery treats and try to recreate it. The winner of this challenge gets a special prize and is allowed to wear a golden chef’s hat.
In the second challenge, “Nail It or Fail It”, contestants have two hours to recreate a complicated cake or treat. They each receive a “Panic Button” which allows them to get three minutes of assistance from one of the judges. The worst-performing baker from the first challenge gets a second button to distract the other bakers – the specific function varies depending on the class, but normally involves Bailey annoying the other bakers. The judges decide on the winning cake based upon presentation and taste. The winner receives a a fun prize and bragging rights!
Please note that our chefs will work in teams of 2-3 for this class. If you are signing up with a friend, let me know in the notes on the checkout page if you would like to be on the same team!
Please note that Sibling pricing is ONLY for siblings and not friends. If you select sibling pricing, your children will share ingredients. If the class is making 12 cookies each, they will bring home 6 each instead of 12 each. Students who are enrolled under sibling pricing will always share a station.
