Want to help us prepare a meal or 2 for our January freezer recipients? Reserve a station. We provide the recipe, ingredients, instructions and kitchen equipment. You do the cooking! It is NOT necessary that you consider yourself a chef. All of our meals use basic easy to follow recipes and simple ingredients. All meals will be prepared in our new kitchen located at 21 Paradise Place in Nicholasville.
Due to covid we are able to have a maximum of 6 cooking stations going at once. If you would like to attend with a child, they must be 10 years or older and will work with you at your station. If bringing a child, you should still enter a quantity of 1 when reserving your spot as you will be working together. Indicate in the notes section the name and age of the child you will be attending with. Please don’t ask us to bend on our age policy or about bringing more than 1 child. We have a hard time saying no, but we have strict policies in place when we have young helpers in the kitchen for the protection of our freezer recipients:) Thanks in advance for your understanding.
We appreciate our volunteers and the time commitment you are making in order to help us get our freezers prepared. It is THE MOST IMPORTANT part of making Simply Serving successful. Making a donation to cover your ingredients is NOT NECESSARY. However, we have had many people request to do so. For this reason, when reserving your spot you can opt to “name your price” for attending our volunteer session. If you do not wish to make a donation at this time, just fill in the amount of $0.00. Donations are always appreciated and if you wish to contribute it may be helpful to know that the average cost of the meal you will be preparing is about $20.00. All donations are 100% tax deductible and you will be provided with a receipt at your meal prep session.
